The Pages of the Letter

January 18, 1898

My dear Jinnie,

Many thanks for your dear letter. I did not have to stay at Peat Wood neither am I going, so perhaps I shall get a chance to go Home. I wish you could come for a few days, but don’t suppose you will be able to.

Lady Powis comes back on Sat – we are busy killing the m***** now. The Party comes in on Monday and we shall have a stiff ten days of it, then they go to Peat Wood.

We are having some very fine weather here; I expect you are getting fogs.

Please let me know if you think you can manage to get off for a few days. I have no news at all this time, so with fondest love,
I am your own Bob.
